Welcome

The Middle East Review

After graduating college in the Fall of 2019, I felt unfulfilled because my interests in Middle East could not be explored to the extent I wanted due to the lack of general classes (IR/Poli Sci, or otherwise) on the Middle East. The Middle East Review is a personal project of mine to make up for that lost time in College.

Frankly, this is the first time I have ever done something like this. Writing online has always been a serious consideration of mine but I didn’t know where to begin but thankfully YouTube is around. As I gain more and more experience in writing and maintaining the website there will be changes to the theme, tone, and general aesthetic of the website – so I hope my readers will be patient with me.

The Middle East Review will primarily be focused on examining the political and economic developments of in the Middle East. I will be publishing news reports on a weekly basis, but the direction and scope of this platform will endeavor to be much larger than that. New sections will also be added, such as an analysis section in which posts will take on the form of a research paper. In the future I will very much like to have other writers and editors join the review but for now, I will be writing most of the content.

The Middle East is an area full of information that is misunderstood or not completely true as reported by western media. Thus, the biases of the review will be sympathetic to the Middle East and will endeavor to contribute opinions and perspectives not typically found in major western news outlets. The impacts of colonialism and imperialism will be frequently referenced as well as the deconstruction of Western media biases will be a crucial task routinely preformed by the Review.

All in all, I hope that readers of The Middle East Review find the platform informative and fresh. I am open to comments, suggestions, and questions you may have concerning any content I publish, so feel free to shoot me an email: I am very responsive!
